Vacation right by the beach
Vacation where there is a sandy beach, a cozy one bedroom retreat (plus a queen sized hide-a-bed), a breath-taking view of Puget Sound. On a clear day you can relax and enjoy a view of Bainbridge and Blake Islands, the Seattle skyline, and the Cascade Mountains with Mount Rainier to the South from the living room.
Walk about a block to reach the fishing pier, boat launch, Pomeroy Park, Manchester Library, the post office, a hairdresser and a restaurant with 50 cent coffee. Take the car or bicycle to check out Manchester State Park.
Stay "home", go down to the beach and build a sandcastle, play a game, or relax with a book.
Explore the area
If you like to explore the area you will find antiques, movies, malls, farmer's Saturday markets, specialty shops, the Victorian Tearoom, or a bonsai nursery. If you head northeast you will visit Port Orchard, Bremerton, Poulsbo, and Silverdale. Head south on Highway 16 and you will pass the edge of Gig Harbor and its shops. If you continue across the toll bridge, you are in Tacoma and a short distance from Pt. Defiance Park. Take one of the ferries and can either go to Vashon Island or into Seattle. In a few hours you can visit the mountains or the Pacific Ocean.
